A day on a high seas :-)

After I had now taken the first week of school behind me and started slowly into the long weekend am (on Monday is Labour Day), I went today really early with my family to Vermilion, where we been invited on the yacht of a friend of Paul were.

Da - wie gesagt - heute Labor-Day Wochenende war, wurde eine grosse Flugshow ueber dem Grossen See dargeboten. Stundenlang kreisten Duesenjets, alte Oldtimer und Spezialflugzeuge ueber unseren Koepfen hinweg. Der Hoehepunkt nach unserem kleinen Picknick auf der Yacht, waren die "Blue Angels", eine Flugszeugstaffel, bestehend aus sechs Flugzeugen, die in perfekter Formation atemberaubende Flugmanoever boten.
Danach machten wir uns wieder auf dem Rueckweg. Bill, unser Captain, brought my family and me back safely to the port of Vermilion. That was my first adventure trip here in the land of unlimited possibilities. It was wonderful!

The first week in my American high school is over. Conclusion: Suuuper! Everything is so different here. This school is nothing to compare with a German school. It was more like a huge campus.
My first day started at 6:00 clock in the morning. After a quick breakfast, Chris and I went to the school. Half a mile (of course with the car). Once there I was looking for my first time Locker for inclusion of all my school supplies there. The first major difference hier in America ist naemlich, dass man keinen Schulranzen mit in den Unterricht nehmen darf. Also musste ich alle Buecher (die uebrigens dreimal so dick sind wie in Deutschland) auf den Arm nehmen, da mein Locker am anderen Ende der riesigen Schule ist und ich zwischen den Unterrichtseinheiten nur drei Minuten Pause habe.
Trotz alle dem, schaffte ich es rechtzeitig alle Klassenzimmer zu finden. Anders als in Deutschland haben hier die Lehrer ihre eigenen Raeume und die Schueler muessen jedesmal den Klassenraum wechseln. Die Lehrer und Schueler hier sind alle super nett zu mir. Jeder hilft mir wo er kann und ueberall werde ich mit Freunde und Interesse empfangen. Alle fragen mich zur Lunchzeit, ob ich mich an ihren Tisch setzten wolle. So faellt es mir very easy to make friends here.
Classes are here on a very undemanding. Although it is much stricter than in Germany, but far below the level of learning German state. Every day I have the same student plan. 7:25 bis 2:38 of clock clock every day!
Although that everything here very strange sounds (I find no better word that brings so to the point), I am pleased to be here and I'm happy to go to this school. "It's not good, it's not bad, it's just different!"
Yes, it's different, but great!

American Football

Last night I saw the first football game of my life. Igor and I had two tickets for the match of our high school team against a team from Washington DC to get paid. So we headed into the station ...

something I had never experienced. The stadium was sold out, nearly 4,000 spectators cheered against her team. The marching band played continuously and the cheerleaders on the overheated crowd. Meanwhile, while I tried in vain to explain the Igor Football rules. The American Way of Life

So, I am now exactly one week with my host family in North Canton, OH. Although the school has not started yet, I start creeping in on the everyday American to start.

As I said, I'm in High School Soccer Team, I have two and half hours every evening football training and at least three games per week. Accordingly, I am also very tired when my Gastbrueder evening and I go into the gigantic big screen and look at the movies launched in Germany in a few months ago in the cinema :-) or go to the huge shopping mall and let the day be.

Slowly I begin to understand that I am in the United States of America. Before I came out here, my image of America was probably just as every German would imagine: Big man, big cars, endless highways, across national flags, air-conditioned houses and and and ... The prejudices of the United States have for me confirmed, but not in the negative light, as they are made in Europe ever since. On the contrary. Apart from climate change to make, just some issues the United States. Otherwise it would not even ... It is very difficult to the "American Way of Life" imagine if you have never been here.

I am so happy to be here and wait for the counter with great pleasure that the school start.

After a warm embrace of Paul and Pam, I knew I had found my home for the Næste school year. The Brady's are so nice to me, help me in any situation. In my family lives Igor, a Brazilian exchange student who has brought his high school years but already a few years behind and now simply lives as in the family. He helps me in all situations where my Latin (or better my English) at the end and shows great interest in Germany.

On 25 August begins here to school. Since I play in High School Soccer Team, I have however now every night for two hours very hard training. The coaches drill us on and on and we practice each part infinite number of times. This is compared to a football training in Germany real competitive sport.
